Bertil Vallien is one of the world's leading glass artists. His spectacular glass boat, Passage, will be presented at SOFA Chicago in collaboration with partner Hawk Galleries from November 3–6.
Passage – also known as “the One Million Dollar Boat” – is the largest and most expensive sculpture ever created at Kosta Boda and is valued at one million dollars. The artwork was created to honor Sweden's oldest glassworks and the 53-year collaboration between the glassworks and Bertil Vallien.
“Bertil is internationally renowned, has won several design and art awards, and his works are represented around the world in the most prestigious museums. Thus, we are honored to present Passage, perhaps Bertil Vallien’s most impressive and majestic masterpiece,” says Donna Davies, Vice President at Art Group of Urban Expositions.
