Rafael Nadal will play the ATP tournament Nordea Open.
– I have fond memories from there and am really looking forward to coming back, he says in a statement on the tournament's website.

Another star is coming to Båstad. The 38-year-old superstar Rafael Nadal is ready for the ATP tournament Nordea Open. In 2005, Nadal won the entire tournament at just 19 years old.
– I am happy to be able to play in Båstad this summer where I won one of my first ATP titles. I have fond memories from there and am really looking forward to coming back and playing in front of the Swedish fans, he says in a statement on the tournament's website.

The uncrowned Spanish clay-court king has won a whopping 22 Grand Slams in his career but has fallen significantly in the world rankings as injuries have started to set in. But there is no doubt that this will add further stardom to the tournament.
– "It's a great honor that one of the best tennis players of all time is playing the Nordea Open. We have had a good relationship for many years and are in regular contact. This year it was a good fit with his preparations for the Paris Olympics," says tournament CEO Christer Hult.

The starting field in Båstad is incredibly strong this year. World number one Jannik Sinner and Norwegian world number seven Casper Ruud have already qualified.

The Nordea Open will be played July 8-21 in Båstad.
