Chairs to cuddle with. Stools as pets. Or how about a chunky sofa to sink into.
As the big, bad world gets colder, the home becomes an increasingly important symbol of security. In the design world, this means we're moving towards kinder furniture with organically flowing shapes and soft colors.
Rarely have we seen sofas as curvy and soft as now. Or so many armchairs where the upholstery follows over the armrests, an invention that was first seen in Inga Sempé's beautiful and unsurpassed Ruché for Ligne Roset.
The new cuddly furniture isn't just for Peter Pan figures who refuse to grow up. No, adults can also join in and share the stuffed animals. A good example is design duo Färg & Blanche's new pouf for Design House Stockholm. Pet-friendly like a dog, but without shedding hair or begging for food. Worse, sit-friendly.
