We see it strongly in fashion world: after the pandemic, the desire to travel has risen to new heights. Earthy colors, exotic-smelling materials and artisanal techniques are experiencing a boom. And just as usual, it spills over into interior design. Perfect for the summer season, terracotta colors and straw baskets are appearing. They should be natural materials with a low carbon footprint, but also feel authentic. This includes rattan, which has had a few years to take hold, as well as bamboo and straw. Clay pots and brown stoneware take their place in the kitchen, linen in the bedroom and hand-knotted kilim and sisal rugs on the floors.
Nature is also included. Large, green monsteras in simple pots, cuttings sprouting in mini vases and ivy hanging in wicker baskets. Together with mustard yellow and earthy brown colors, the home becomes a delicious oasis for traveling away in thought.
