Amidst the legendary vineyards, the hotel Les Sources de Vougeot has now opened. Here, wine is not just in the glass, but an integral part of the entire experience – from history and terroir to vineyards and spa treatments.

IN THE HEART OF In the classic wine landscape of Burgundy, the hotel Les Sources de Vougeot is located in the historic Château de Gilly. The building, a former 14th-century monastery, is just a stone's throw from the legendary Clos de Vougeot. Surrounded by the UNESCO-listed 'climats', Burgundy's historic vineyard sites. Many of these are classified as Grand Cru and Premier Cru. Here, history and contemporary elegance meet in a unique way.
Behind the initiative are Alice Tourbier and Jérôme Tourbier, the duo behind Caudalie Springs and Les Sources de Cheverny. Since its inception in 1999, their signature concept “Art of the Vine” has shaped a hotel experience where wine permeates everything – from gastronomy to spa and architecture. The project in Vougeot has been evolving for about two years, but the idea is the result of a long-term vision: to establish itself in France's most prestigious wine regions.

The hotel'

Now we find here a carefully restored castle that houses 49 rooms and suites. The castle has historic vaults, moats and mills. These are combined with modern design. The environment is subdued and homely, with an atmosphere that feels both elegant and cozy.
The hotel's clearest profile lies in the meeting between wine and well-being. In collaboration with Caudalie, world leader in Vinotherapy, has created a spa where the power of the grape is at the center. Here, extracts from grape seeds and vines, which are rich in antioxidants, are used. The treatments focus on skin radiance and body recovery.
The unique environment enhances the experience. The hotel's spa is housed in a medieval wine cellar where Cistercian monks once stored wine. Today, the old vaults house pools, a sauna, and treatment rooms. The atmosphere is tranquil and spartan. Light filters in from the small windows at the very top, creating a calm and peaceful mood.

Outside, one of the world's most legendary wine landscapes awaits. Burgundy's “climates”– the small, unique vineyard plots – are counted among the world's foremost terroirs, home to iconic appellations such as Romanée-Conti
and Chambolle-Musigny. Experiencing the wines on site provides a clearer understanding of their origin and character. With Les Sources de Vougeot the Tourbier couple continues to develop its concept around wine, place and lifestyle. Here the idea of the wine journey is deepened. It extends from tasting to a holistic experience. The place, the history and the senses interact to create a unique experience.
