THE STORY THAT The one thing you can't change when you move in is the location, everything else you can change. And as the name suggests, we've ended up on 5th Avenue, at the corner of 28th Street in the NoMad district. Here you have close proximity to, among other things, Madison Square Park, the Empire State Building, and Fotografiska. The hotel combines two buildings, a 5-storey Renaissance-style building from 1907 and a 24-storey glass tower.
It has taken seven years to go from vision to reality and today we find here 153 rooms and suites furnished by Martin Brodniziki. Design Studio. The colour scheme is green, yellow and pink, and the approach is minimalist and also inspired by hotel owner Alex Obebshalom's travels to Myanmar, Laos and Marrakech. Stuccoed wall panels and ceilings are painted, the Murano glass chandeliers are colourful and the wardrobes are Asian. Romance meets glamour. All rooms have fine views, some also have their own terrace. Voyage investigating the price and trying to book New Year's Eve in the 53-square-metre The Mansion Junior Suite, the one you see in the picture here. And the price for two for this night comes to $2,595. All other dates we test for the same room also come up at the same price.
