Checked into the sun lounger, a ripple in the pool, created from the finest mosaic. This is what we are treated to here. Colourful, inspiring and Charmingly handsome In picture.
On the family-owned The luxury hotel Le Sirenuse In the town of Positano on the Italian Amalfi Coast, art collaborations have been a common thread in the guest experience. The art projects are curated by Silka Rittsson Thomas and currently include works by artists such as Martin Creed, Stanley Whitney, Rita Ackermann, Alex Israel, Matt Connors, and Caragh Thuring, among others. Number eleven in the series is the Swiss artist Nicolas Party.
– Normally, when an artist visits the hotel for the first time, the project is intentionally a blank slate, with no preconceived ideas about what the artwork will be or where it will be placed. But in this case, we knew thatit must be the pool, and we knew the material had to be mosaic, says Silka Rittson-Thomas, curator of the art projects at Le Sirenuse.

Nicolas Party has thus taken on the pool, bringing it to life in the form of a sparkling blue-green wave that climbs the pool walls. In doing so, he creates a unique view whether you are looking at the pool from the side or from above. Whether you turn your gaze towards the sea or towards the hotel itself. The material is glass mosaic and is responsible for adapting the shapes and colours to Party's pastel drawings. Bisazza Italian.
