Being rightly picky behind the wheel is just the first name when describing a Range Rover owner. The new Range Rover P530 will not disappoint!
I'm already aware that I'm going to drive one of the world's most comfortable cars. But that it would be even better and more comfortable feels almost unreasonable. How could they have managed this is really a question that circulates in my head as I set off to pick up the car.
What sets it apart externally, in addition to the new front headlights and rear lights, is that the rear lights are more integrated into the design than before. Something that only becomes clear when they are lit up. Another thing is "the gills" in metal at the front, located just behind the front wheels. They give a sober look and add something to an otherwise fairly bare surface.
Once inside the car, thoughts are brought to royal highnesses. Not because the back seat they sat in is what brings them to mind, but because you really sit like a king. You sit high up in the front seats with good all-round visibility and the seats are extremely comfortable. You choose whether the center armrest should be folded down or not. As a detail, there are small light-emitting diodes on the brackets where you click the belt. There is absolutely nothing to complain about and if you are a person who enjoys music, you will do so with joy in new The Range Rover, it is equipped with speakers in the headrests for a phenomenal sound image.
What also distinguishes the new Range Rover is its size. It has become larger than its predecessor and some garages will probably be a problem for some owners. But how easy it is to maneuver and has become thanks to new technology will hopefully simplify it in most situations. For example, it also helps by turning the rear wheels when needed. These can turn a full 7.3 degrees if necessary. The new Range Rover is also surprisingly quiet, a noise reduction system through the speakers helps with this. The technology works so that the speakers play sounds that neutralize the sound that is heard around. In addition to the aforementioned royal seating comfort, no effort has been spared when it comes to the suspension. The analogy of literally floating forward takes on a whole new meaning here. Something that has become possible thanks to air suspension.

Driving around between the neighborhoods in Östermalm should be seen as wasted pleasure as that is not what the car is built for. Instead, try to find a beautiful spot in the forest with a sunset to enjoy with a cup of coffee. Do this in the back of the car by opening the two-part tailgate where the lower part folds down with an integrated cup holder. Should darkness fall and you want to stay and listen to music or read a book, there are both lighting and speakers mounted in the upper part of the tailgate that folds up.
A plus in the edge is how easy everything is to see. The main reason for understanding this is of course the size and nothing needs to be crowded together, the gadgets simply fit. It is especially clearly visible up front where there are actually controls for the climate control system and for the volume of the stereo next to the screen, which makes it easy and safe to change the settings while driving and keeping your eyes on the road.
When it comes to the engine, the new Range Rover is available in a multitude of variants, and a full eleven different engine combinations. Six diesels and five petrol engines, seven of which are hybrid versions. The one I was able to borrow was the “top off the line version“ with a full 530 horses and 750 Newton meters of torque. Something that is also evident from the addition in the name, which is P530. It's the most powerful version! 0 to 100 goes on 4.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 kilometers per hour.
Building a car for maximum comfort for the occupant or driver has long been a hallmark of Range Rover, but now it is also a leader in fuel economy and environmental performance thanks to its hybrid versions in this size. The new Range Rover clearly raises the bar and the idea that large luxury SUVs don't have to be environmental villains.
My journey with this mile-guzzler went to my birthplace on the west coast, namely Gothenburg. There I took a trip down to the Amerikahuset and up to Ramundberget to check out Ola Serneke's new skyscraper Karlatornet. With a height of 246 meters and 74 floors, this will be the tallest building in the Nordic region. A powerful sight and a perfect match for the new Range Rover, an investment in a home here and this particular car I would say is a good combo.
The trip home from Gothenburg went like clockwork. I have hardly experienced a more comfortable trip home to Stockholm with myself as the driver. But even in the back seat as a passenger, the trip would probably have been among the most comfortable. The new Range Rover is built to consume miles like candy where the driver and passengers are real candy monsters.
