On point Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama

The finishing touch to Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama Voyage

Remove

A second collaboration and a second release of products are now available in Louis Vuitton stores. The basis is the LV logo, which has been incorporated into the artist's Yayoi Kusama repetitive and sometimes hallucinatory visual worlds. New classics and a robot of the artist himself in the shop window that paints dot after dot pecks for attention. Or she appears in an inflated format in another shop window.

About the artist

Yayoi Kusama was born in 1929 in Japan, her parents worked with seed breeding. From here her artistry grows. Already in the 1950s she attracted attention and there would be more. Her visual world is naive and colorful, repetitive and she herself is often a part of this. She was noticed for her performances where she painted patterns on naked participants, she addressed issues of sexuality and the Vietnam War. She hallucinates and sees the world taken over by dots, by shapes, emotions she processes in her art. There is no stop to her productivity and she works every day and says herself that she wants to leave behind a body of work. Her flower collection was initially supposed to consist of 100 works, it became 500, it became 1000…
Anyone who complains that there are far too many products included in this collaboration has not really understood its essence. Dot by dot, pumpkin by pumpkin, flower by flower towards infinity.
