The British company Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) announces that French ecotourism company Grands Espaces plans to acquire one of HAV's airships, the Airlander 10, according to a press release. They plan to use the airship to take tourists to hard-to-reach areas. The company currently specializes in cruises to destinations such as the Arctic, Antarctica, Iceland and Greenland.
The aircraft is approximately 90 meters long, has room for up to 100 passengers and a maximum speed of approximately 150 km/h. The plan is now to introduce Airlander 10 for tourist use around 2028.
HAV's collaboration with Large Spaces illustrates how airship technology can be used to enable travelers to explore remote parts of the world in a sustainable way.
