King Seiko VANAC, a design series that was born on 1970s, returns to the 2025 collection with a new sporty aesthetic. Powered by Seiko's latest addition to the 8L movement platform, the watches feature improved accuracy and longer power reserves. Inspired by the great city where King Seiko was born, a metropolis that seems to stretch endlessly into the distance, is the theme of the new creations Tokyo's horizon.

In 1972, King Seiko launched VANC, which is characterized by its classic design. A series with strong colors and innovative and multifaceted designs. Today, over 50 years later, a new VANAC here, which inherits the spirit that characterized the original and opens up new possibilities for King Seiko.

The case and dial design are inspired by Tokyo skyline, a view known for its depictions of art, film and popular culture, whose rich expression changes depending on the time of day. Although VANAC has a strong and dynamic angularity, which makes it look like it was cut from a block of solid metal. It gives its very thin or almost invisible edges an elegant and slender impression. The newly developed link has been achieved through a combination of links with mirror and linear finishes, which ensures comfort on the wrist and a clear sense of luxury and elegance.

The dial features a horizontal stripe pattern and indexes embedded in a dedicated ring on its surface. The index at 12 o’clock and the counterweight on the seconds hand form the eye-catching silhouette of the letter ”V”, indicating the first letter of the series name.

The new movement’s beautiful finish can be seen through the sapphire crystal caseback. In fact, the new VANAC features the first transparent case on any King Seiko watch since the collection’s relaunch in 2022. The 8L45 caliber achieves a 72-hour power reserve thanks to an improved mainspring and has an accuracy of +10 to -5 seconds per day. It was designed to have the durability and other characteristics required of movements that power modern mechanical sports watches. Through its combination of high performance and functional beauty, it represents Caliber 8L45 the pinnacle of Seiko's mechanical watch movements. 

The new series is offered with watch faces in purple, navy blue and silver tones, with each color inspired by the Tokyo skyline at different times of the day: dusk, midnight and sunrise.

These three creations will be part of the main King Seiko collection and will be available from July 2025 at Seiko Boutiques and selected retailers worldwide.

In addition to the three watches included in the main King Seiko collection, a limited edition and an exclusive Seiko boutique watch will also be included in the collection. Both the limited edition and the boutique exclusive watch have the same specifications as the other three creations included in the main King Seiko collection.

The limited edition shares the theme of Tokyo's sunrise with one of the watches from the main collection; however, the limited edition theme is expressed through a gold-colored dial. The lettering on the dial and the King Seiko logo on the caseback also take on a golden hue.

This special edition will be available from July 2025 at selected Seiko Boutiques and retailers worldwide in a limited edition of 700 pieces.
